Sunday July 27th,2008 U-853 Charter Join us as we dive the U853 Nazi submarine,a type ix-C-40 built in the Deschimag Yard in Germany. The second dive will be voted on by those aboard according to conditions. This Charter,Proirity,and Giant Stride Dive Shop, requires an advanced cert. with some experience diving to depths greater than 100 ft. in New England (or similar) waters. A redundant air source,lift bag or sausage,and whistle or horn is required. Cost is $135.00 per diver and only 6 spots are available.This is a nice roomy boat with lots of deck space. You must come in and pre-pay this charter.(the sooner the better)You must also bring your cert card to the dive.Bring a lunch and some water. August 1, 2008 - Advanced Open Water Certification Instructor: CHRIS PARKER Cost: $300.00 Thursday 7/31: Lecture at Giant Stride. Friday 8/1: Night dive. Saturday 8/2: Navigation Dive Sunday 8/3: Deep Dive. Saturday and Sunday will also include a specialty dive TBA. This course includes book, use of DVD, Certification/Pic Card and Lots of fun! Although you should already own your own gear by this time we will provide wetsuit, regulator, & BCD provided you rent tanks and lead from us. Upgrade to an additional Nitrox Cert for only $75.00 more when taking the Advanced Open Water. (normally $130.00) registration

Charlie, the captain of Snappa informed me this morning that his NEW boat expected last month has encountered more delays and therefore will not be able to make the trip...this trip is CANCELLED and full refunds will be available. Join Giant Stride Dive Shop along with Snappa Charters as we dive with Makos,blue Sharks,Dogfish,Mola Mola,Turtles and Pods of Porpoise. We leave out of Pt Judith at around 6:30am. A cage and snorkle platform is available for divers and nondivers alike. If you don't have gear a charter discount providing all your gear for only $30.00 is available. Aug. 17, 2008 - Idene & Block Island Pinnacles
We will leave the doc at 7:00am to dive the Idene, a steel fishing vessel 120 feet long,that stands upright and intact in 85 feet of seawater (FSW) The deck of this vessel is at about 70 FSW. Visability is usually 20' or better making this an awesome wreck dive followed by a dive on the Block Island Pinnacles. Must have an advanced certification or have logged more than 25 dives in our waters (please bring c card or log book in when you sign up). Required equiptment: SMB or safe-t-sausage, Whistle and light. Please understand there are no refunds after signing up regardlesss of wether or not you go unless cancelled by the Captain.
